Asthma

Asthma is a greek word which means panting.It is a respiratory disease.The person suffering from asthma get frequent attacks whic are due to dust,pollution,cold,gas,smoke etc.It basically affects the respiratory system.


Symptoms

1-Difficulty in breathing.
2-It is difficult to inhale and exale as the bronchitus become clogged with mucus.
3-Coughing,sneezing and respiratory infections.
4-Abdominal pain especially if coughing is severe.
5-Foggy weather aggravates the symptoms.

Causes

1-Allergic condition resulting from the reaction of the system to the weather, food, drugs, perfumes and other irritants
2Staying for long time in the dusty  environment are the most common.
3-Various forms of dust like cotton dust,cement,coal,hay,wheat dust and paper
4-Foods which cause allergic reactions include wheat, eggs, milk, chocolates, beans, potato, pork and beef.
5-Pollution in the environment
Treatment


1-Avoid harmful habits such as smoking pipes,ciggarates,cigars ets which affect the respiratory system thus reducing its immunity.
2-Drink a lot of water to eliminate toxins from the body.
3-Spices, chillies and pickles, too much tea and coffee should also be avoided.
4-Honey is considered highly beneficial in the treatment of asthma.
5-The patient should be given daily garlic cloves boiled in 30 grams of milk as a cure for early stage of asthma.
6-Steaming ginger tea with garlic cloves in it,in the morning also beneficial.
7-Turmeric is also regarded as an effective remedy for asthma. The patient should be given a teaspoonful of turmeric powder with a glass of milk before sleeping.
8-The steam of boiling water with caraway seeds, known as ajwain should be taken whenever the parson feels difficulty in breathing as it dialates the respiratory passage.
9-The patient should avoid dusty places, exposure to cold, foods to which he is sensitive, mental worries and tensions
